Very useful for things such as drums where you want the compression to return to zero before the next hit.

If i’m not mistaken, that is usually a feature that automatically increases or decreases the perceived output gain to match the original input volume, in order for us to more easily judge what actual effect the plugin is accomplishing (rather than sounding better to our ears due to an increased volume).

Since I have so many compressors already I saw this and thought eh maybe I’ll just skip this one due to lack of a standard convenience feature.

But on the video there’s clearly a big knob saying “OUTPUT” lol so IDK what that would be if not for makeup gain.
