When you first run it on a new machine you have to activate it online with a serial number.

It’s a minor inconvenience until the day when the activation server goes away. Then it becomes a bigger one.

The old one didn’t have any copy protection.

Sadly not as free as the old version. As with the other recent Sampleson releases this new free version has challenge/response copy protection.

About the Ally Multiband comp, you said it’s free but no, it’s not, it’s 5€ minimum.
Fair price by the way, this multiband comp seems to be quite interesting, with a funny et simple interface.
