If you’re on the hunt for some no-frills instruments meant to get you making music, the UJAM stuff is a great choice. There are a plethora of drum sets, basses, synths, and so much more that you can take your pick from. If effects are more your bag, you can peek into the FINISHER series of products.

As for Parallel Aggressor, that is Baby Audio’s take on the ever-popular parallel processing you might encounter on a drum bus. You get access to compression and saturation, which gets quite biting when dialed into higher amounts.

Like many of Baby Audio’s software releases, it is a straightforward interface. Your two primary controls are Spank and Heat.

Spank dials in the compression, and you’ve got little concern about finding the ideal attack and release settings. Heat brings on saturation and distortion. Subtle amounts lend a nice glue to your drums but crank it, and you get some real grit to the sound.

You’ve got plenty of time to hem and haw about which release you want to add to your plugin collection. I will personally recommend the guitars, which aren’t as realistic as the awkward fumbling I’ve been doing with my hands for twenty years. They are production-ready, however, which is more than I can say for my own playing.

Overall, you’ve got ample opportunity to pick up some great releases from the good folks at UJAM. Be sure to act fast, though, as the sale ends on July 9th.
