Agreed. Years ago I also had an early v1 of the Dual Rectifier Solo Head (a rackmount chassis version) and I now currently have a Single Recto head (series 2) and both had completely different vibes than the SLO100 or 5150, and the Recto 50 I have is even quite a bit different vibe-wise from the original Dual I had some 20 years ago (FWIW I definitely prefer the Solo 50). It’s pretty difficult to find an amp that isn’t derivative from another amp circuit in some form or another, but I guess I got hung up on the term “clone” as that seemed ill-informed. Not worth the argument TBH so no more stirring the pot from me as I don’t want to spoil anyone’s fun here.

Cheaper components and assembly methods, probably a different layout were used to make the 5150 a more affordable alternative to the SLO, which can alter tone dramatically on any amp. Apparently the Rectifier is a close copy of the SLO’s schematic as well, with some extras. Totally different sound again.

I have a 1st gen 5150 head, all original. It sounds nothing like an SLO100. Just sayin’.
