ToneLib Updates FREE TL TubeWarmth Overdrive

ToneLib TubeWarmth

ToneLib recently updated the free TL TubeWarmth overdrive plugin to Version 2.0.1.

TL TubeWarmth is a 64-bit-only release for Windows, macOS, and Ubuntu. It is available in VST, VST3, AU, and standalone formats.

ToneLib designed TL TubeWarmth to deliver the vividness and roughness of a tube sound from a dry digital signal.

No doubt y’all wondering, so what’s new in this version 2.0.1 update?

Well, this time around, the developer has included a new rack design with a new Extra Heat knob included, an updated interface, an A/B switch, and improved plugin performance and stability.

The new feature that really stands out to me is the updated rack design and new Extra Heat knob.

The new knob allows you to add more gain while maintaining the warmth and transparency of the tone.

Extra Heat operates individually, so it won’t change how the existing presets sound.

The new TL TubeWarmth interface features a revamped Input/Output display and a new switch to compare the A/B states of the plugin.

The latter allows users to compare several settings configurations and hear what works best.

The new interface also allows users to collapse the rack window to get a better look at the signal dynamics tracking.

You can get your own free copy of TL TubeWarmth by clicking on the Free Download link on the product page and navigating to the Freeware tab.

From there, you can download the plugin for your chosen operating system.

I’ve got to give it up to ToneLib for making the download process very quick and easy – no login or personal information is required, thankfully.

There doesn’t seem to be an official audio demo available for the TL TubeWarmth, however, several YouTubers have created user demos featuring the version 2.0.1 update of TL TubeWarmth, so you can hear the updated plugin in action thanks to their efforts.

Let’s look at what else TL TubeWarmth has to offer.

The plugin works its magic by adding even-numbered harmonies to the input, which expands the tone by adding depth, colour and texture.

The classic design of the plugin produces a light, warm overdrive with the ability to add harmonics when processing the input signal.

The new Extra Heat knob has expanded the range of TL TubeWarmth in this area, allowing users to really kick up the gain level and get a bit more juice out of the plugin.

I really like TL’s plugins but it’d be nice to have an option to disable the visualizer which seems to be very CPU heavy…ended up making my Reaper crash a few times even though my mac is not the fastest admittedly.
