Splash Sound Epic Percussion 2 Kontakt Library Is FREE For A Limited Time

By Stephen CharltonMarch 21, 20248 Comments3 Mins Read
Splash Sound’s Epic Percussion 2 Kontakt library is free until April 9

Splash Sound’s Epic Percussion 2 library, which has 14 cinematic percussion instruments, is free until April 9 for Kontakt users.

Note that this library requires you to own the paid version of Native Instruments Kontakt to use it and is not compatible with the free Kontakt Player.

The free library is quite a steal, as Epic Percussion 2 would normally set you back $99.

Epic Percussion 2 features instruments that include hand percussion, ensembles, low drums, tambourines, taikos, and snare drums.

The library offers a combination of four mic positions (Close, Overhead, Room, and Hall), allowing you to dial in a tone ranging from close and dry to massive and expansive.

With the ability to switch each mic on or off and control the levels independently, there’s a wide range of sounds on tap.

The sound can be further finessed with the included effects such as EQ, compression, and reverb.

Splash Sound included 70 rhythmic phrases with auto project time stretch, 100 MIDI loops, and more than 40 sound effects samples such as hits, transitions, and risers.

The original Epic Percussion launched back in February 2019, and Splash Sound released Epic Percussion 2 as a free update to the library in May 2020.

For the 2.0 release, the developer included a new UI, lowered CPU usage, remastered the instruments, added on/off switches, and debuted a new Epicness knob, which they described as a saturation and stereo imaging multi-effect.

Splash Sound has since released Epic Percussion 3, which features three drum kits and 17 solo percussion instruments.

Epic Percussion 3 is currently available for $69, which is 54% off the regular price of  $149.

There are plenty of demos on YouTube for all three releases if you want to hear how they sound.

Kontakt is a Windows and Mac release, and Epic Percussion 2 is made for Kontakt 5.6.8 or newer.

Splash Sound is currently running a site-wide sale on its plugins, which cover drums, guitar, synths, and vocal instruments, with everything cut down at quite generous amounts, such as 50% off or more.

If you’re looking for more freebies, Splash Sound has you covered. Its site currently hosts eight freeware libraries available for download.

The free libraries tend to be a bit left of center, featuring releases such as Jaw Harp, Music Box, and Xylophone. It’s always a good idea to freshen up your sample folder with unusual sounds, and this is a nice opportunity to do so.

Easy download, and easy installation, just unpack the zip and load up an NKI to get it going

This is so good. It’s got them a new paying customer. Although some saving up may be necessary. Thanks very much for letting us know about this,
