Ujam’s Finisher Micro Multi-Effect Plugin is Free Until September 4

Ujam’s Finisher Micro Multi-Effect Plugin is Free Until September 4

Ujam has made its Finisher Micro multi-effect available for free until September 4, 2024.

After September 4, the plugin will transition to a paid product, although Ujam has not specified how much it will cost.

Finisher Micro is a Windows and macOS release for VST, AAX, and AU.

Ujam describes the plugin as “the ultimate magic spray finish for your audio tracks.”

YouTube video

Finisher Micro has 25 automated multi-effect chain modes and mode switching without audio dropouts.

Ujam designed the plugin to get you into the zone creatively without opening up a bunch of plugins and micromanaging them individually.

The developer said it’s great for providing a dash of inspiration, stating that it can help you “find a great-sounding treatment for your instrument that inspires you, tweak it a little, maybe automate it, and move on happily. That is the elating feeling that we call ‘getting to the Finish.’”

You can click through on the Finisher Micro product page to get your free licence for the plugin, which will remain free forever as long as you secure it before September 4.

If you already own a license, Ujam suggests updating your Micro Finisher to permanently use the free version. The developer has provided a link for this on the product page.

Finisher Micro is a very fitting name for the release, as the little plugin definitely has a minimalist design.

Users have four parameters to play with: Amount, Mode, Input, and Output.

The Mode parameter selects one of the 25 effects chains, while the Amount knob “can be wired to every parameter of every active effect, in varying degrees.”

Ujam states this can “dramatically speed up the phaser while introducing a little distortion and mixing in a dash of reverb. You are freed from the pressure to know what’s going on.”

Ujam uploaded an audio example video on their YouTube channel, which showcases what the Finisher Micro is capable of sonically.

The plugin is designed to integrate with Ujam’s virtual instruments, and the video showcases this very well, with various Ujam instruments heard in the demo being modified with Finisher Micro.

What Ujam said about how the plugin is good for sparking creativity definitely checks out.

This is because the way Finisher Micro modifies the tone of the instruments is interesting, and you can very easily see a lot of possibilities from altering the various presets and the Amount parameter.

Well, it’s a no – it seems it’s their only plugin that doesn’t have it’s own installer. I have some of their plugs but I don’t want to install their installation manager.

“[…] You are freed from the pressure to know what’s going on.”

We should all be grateful to UJAM for relieving us of the burden of continued existential awareness.
(… wait… is it just talking about audio production, or… ?)

    What a piece of junk.

Just a bunch of useless unnecessary presets that you cant really do anything with taking up over 300MB of disk space, plus another 500mb installer living rent-free on my hard drive.

I was under the impression it was some kind of mastering software, being called ‘Finisher’, but alas…no; just a collection of whooshes, bonks and squelches you’d be hard pressed to use in any piece of music.
There must be at least a dozen couple of megabyte freeware products that can do all this and more without all the hoop jumping and arseing about.
    Absolute POS IMO.
