It’s time for BPB’s New Year giveaway! One lucky BPB reader will enter 2023 with a free FL Studio 21 Signature Bundle license and a free copy of Inferno SFX Deluxe.

I hope your 2022 was good and that your 2023 will be even better. I would like to thank all BPB readers, newsletter subscribers, and the amazing community in the comments section for all the support, helpful tips, and comments this year.

I will try to make BPB even better in 2023. A design overhaul and additional community features will launch in the first half of the year. With that in mind, you are invited to send feedback about what improvements you’d like to see on BPB.

Any feedback would be more than helpful, and I’ll try to implement as many requests as possible in the upgrade.

    I guess the best way would be a sound correction vst
    Like the wave nx or acustica audio sienna or sonible eq correction something like that
    This is a real problem producers gonna be facing

    I would lke to see BPB aswell as all the big plugin companies make CL-1B emulations. It’s astonishing there is only the Softube one while the hardware is the most sought after thing in the industry (I’m exaggerating but still).

    I just thought of a plugin, that would somehow tell, how good the sounds you pick match other sounds in the track. Something you put on a master track and that analyzes frequencies or something, maybe. Happy 2023!

    I think to capture the spirit of bedroom producers, I’ve have this idea where it’s a denoiser plugin bundled with any kind of eq, to be used for either additive or subtractive purposes(can have 2 phases of eq for both purposes in one package, hopefully optional).HP/LP filters. Additionally, you can put in a little module of that sweet bpb tube saturator to help it cut through the mix better.

    I believe that this a good idea for an all-in-one solution for prepping bedroom vocals as a lot of us struggle with muffled frequencies and noisy environments. And the only things you need to do after this is compression and fx of which there are already a lot of great plugins.

    Saving presets is also quite important as after dialing in your settings, it will allow users to choose their preset then quickly have their vocals ready for more fx work. Getting rid of constant multiple opening of other denoisers and eq’s.

      Multiband fx unit with a combination of fx and a step sequencer. As for a single fx unit, I would like to see a reverb until with a built in delay , chorus, filter and distortion module. Can’t have too many reverbs.

    I have many wishes. I would like someone to come up with a plugin or application that looks for similar sounds to the sound that you show, so that for example I show an example of a kick and he finds similar or what would be cool, he could find approximate sounds from the track. It would be cool to also have a similar search in synths, although I mostly wind up the sounds myself but it would also be useful when you are confused!

    Maybe a bit silly recommending this since it’s in the signature edition of FL, but a plugin like Gross Beat that makes it easier to create sidechain like effects.

    I would like to see a VST/Clap plugin developed for all major platforms – Windows, macOS and Linux – with an abstraction layer to allow it to run sub-plugins (I presume this will be in some form of platform agnostic bytecode interpreted by the actual VST/Clap master plugin). It would need to have some sort of decent licensing protection for the 3rd party developers. It would come with a SDK and a built-in appstore for sub-plugins available for developers.

    Write your sub-plugin once, publish it to the app-store and it will work on all platforms.

    Since I’m a big fan of your saturation modes in your plugins and the easy look: a parametric EQ with saturation and distortion would be nice. But also a simple synth with those modes would be totally awesome.

    I would like to se a midiFX that remaps the contents of one midiclip with the harmonic content from another, and at the same time use a scale quantizer. Similar to the “melodicflow” vst but with the ability to use MPE content and the ability to automate the choice of scale.

    It would be cool if BPB have a CPU friendly reverser plugin. KHS feels slow and the paid Reverser one’s like Initial Audio’s GUI literally loads whenever I finishing blinking 10 times. Anyway, thanks guys :D

    A reversed Midi Gate (or Kill Switch)… When you play a midi note, the gate will be closed instead of being opened. Not a gate sequencer, tape stop or something like that. Just a simple one function VST that kills the midi or audio signal from the track(s) you assigned the VST to, without having to use any automation.

    A cimbalom synthesiser! I wasn’t able to find any free options… Rex Basterfield’s freeware Quilcom synths are in that ballpark but he hasn’t done one so far. His page includes schematics for many of his synths, might be a starter… ?

    Some kind of straight forward Sample Organizer without all the bloat of AI or online Sample Store kinda gunf. With the ability of custom categories (eg Snare, Clap Snare, Percussion, Foley Percussion etc etc).

    How about a BPB Sample Manager? Or how about a community-based plugin directory or wiki where users can mark which ones they own and add personal notes to it if desired (like when they acquired it and for how much, how they like to use it, etc…) and add tags and links to tutorials and reviews. Not really a plugin itself, but something that helps us keep track of what we already have so we can get more mileage out of what we already have.

    I would like to see BPB release more All-In-One VST Plugins. Plugins that are Smacked into place and will make an instant difference. I have About 500 plugins, and really use about 10 of them on a regular basis. I only speaking from a Bedroom Producer’s perspective…

    I would suggest to have all in one drum VST synth (kick, snare, tom, Hh, etc.) + sampler with multiple outputs, with sequencer like FL Studio. It is ok, if it is not emulating any hardware drum synth. Everything offline, no need to connect with internet.

    A polyphonic pitch-shifter to change the tuning in realtime (or with low latency) of polyphonic instruments like electric guitar. This exists in hardware guitar pedals and it works quite well (with a few glitches when dealing with chords with lots of notes) but there’s no one doing this as well in plugin format, even if computers have much more processing power available.

    a granular multi-effect engine would be awesome,

    alternatively, some kind of midi generation tool based on AI might be neat as well!

    however if all of that is too complicated, then a graphic EQ would go a really long way folks. Something light on the cpu, clean, and visually appealing, like pro-q3 (or anything similar in appearance) would be very helpful for a lot of producers.

    Hi I would like to see a drum vst plugin that is fully accessible with screen readers out of the box. I’m a blind musician and we need spoken feedbakck and the controls and parameters read to us when we use the tab and arrow keys so that we know what we are doing. ML-drums comes very close to beeing fully accessible luckly I can tweak everything through Reaper and our access solution called Osara which gives us access to reapers interface

    I would like to see more analog emulated plugins like analog compressors, pultec eq etc.

    I would like to mentions that this website is awesome. I heard about this website in some YouTube video 3 years before and I literally check this website at least twice a day for some coolest gadgets in the game and of course some freebies.
    Actually my mind was blowed off when I saw plugin alliance’s free bx plugins through this website. Now I own Many premium plugins from this website. Thank you for bringing all the good stuffs under one roof.
    I also think every producer and artists must visit this site at least once a week!!!

    For sure, a beefier version of the BPB Saturator or the Dirty LA. I’ve been getting hands on with parallel compression in my sessions and the kind of results you can achieve with this technique if used tastefully (with saturation / compression) are crazy.
    If not that then (FOR SURE FOR SURE now 😄) a BPB Delay plugin is overdue.

    A delay/echo with some tone shaping or LFO options would be amazing. And I know it’s a little harder to pull off, a granular effect with a good balance of being chaotic and controllable would be borderline guaranteed to make it onto almost every project of mine. I can never seem to have enough plugins that are capable of warping a track into something completely different!

    Oh, I know. Linear phase multiband compressor. Or regular one that can compress only under a frequency you pick. Like sidechain filter, but in reverse. I know it’s a challenge, to make it work without phase cancelation and artifacts, but it could be fun. Your other plugins are great. Peace!

    Low cpu-usage Channel rack with compressors, limiter, eq, reverb, delay and random effects. But that’s a lot, anything that sounds good and has a low cpu usage would be heavenly.

    I like modulation a lot.
    I would go with some type of multi-modulation effect.
    Chorus, vibrato, Flanger, Tremolo, etc.

    Even if it makes a mess, it would be nice to use a couple, or all of them at the same time. Allowing to make different routings.

    I’d love some sort of inventive and clever ReAmping utility plugin? Or maybe an interesting variation on a plugin host akin to BC’s Patchwork? Seems like there’s already a million plugins for Dynamics, Saturators, Distortions, Delays, Reverbs, Modulations, etc so it’d be nice to see something innovative and thought provoking in some other category. Think outside the box! :-)

    Well, what the freeware world lacks is for sure a shimmer reverb (Cloud Seed is the only one I know of). And even though I love ReaSamplomatic 5000 and TX16Wx and they’ve just released a ShortcircuitXT super-pre-alpha version, so we can hope they’ll have a stable version soon, good samplers are always needed. But, enough of that. This was a good year (not as much for the World peace, unfortunately). Thx for everything BPB. Happy holidays and good luck everyone.

    The game changer can be a “vst” that give the list of all the plugin (vst, vst3, compoment, aax) already installed on the Mac or PC….with my personnal tags ( i.e. compressor pre amp de esser eq fx filter …).

    Please create a sinoid wave folder where we can adjust the Y axis reflection/folding threshold for at least 3 folds.

    IE: first threshold defines when the wave form folds back to Y=0, second threshold would allow a second fold to be set at a value between Y=0 and clipping, third threshold (and all subsequent odd numbered thresholds) would be a repeat of the first threshold, and the fourth (and all subsequent even numbered thresholds) would be a repeat of the second threshold.

    This would allow for new and interesting distortion that has not been done before.

    I would love a simple delay with distortion and a sweepable filter in the feedback loop.
    It doesn’t sound unique but I have never found anything that sounded close as good as the late Ohmboyz LPF LFO preset…

    For a new plugin, I would love to see your take on a cartesian sequencer. HY-ESG really gets my noodle in a knot (in a good way), and I would just love it if you guys would do something like the Rene module. But please, no clones, put your own spin on it!

    I have always coveted the Symbolic Sound Kyma:Capybara audio engine and software. With affordable computers now running 4 to 8 cores, I want to believe the capabilities of the K:C can now be executed in software. That’s my New Year’s wish.

    Hi, I would like to see BPB create some type of melody effect plugin. Something that has presets that can affect the sounds with multiple effects. For example, preset 1 could reverse the sound add some reverb and maybe a bit of delay. This could be great for giving some inspiration with dull melodies.

    I would love to see a BPB Dirty EQ! Something with tons of non-linearities and options for different types of circuitry, input and output stage transformers, an optional FFT spectrogram, autogain compensation, optional oversampling, oh my goodness. You guys would knock it out of the park.

    Introduce me Agus Hasbullah.
    I am BPB daily reader from few years ago also FL studio User. from the beginning my hobby was making music, BPB and FL studio were my friends every day and made me more proficient in making music.
    It’s like FL studio as my father and BPB as my mother. I only have a fruity edition license for FL studio because I don’t have the money to upgrade it yet.
    BPB always makes me grow more every day, but there is still something that needs to be added to the BPB website, namely BPB must have its own Synth like Sylenth1 which is easy and not heavy when running on a computer.
    So I hope BPB and FL studio can work together. Thank you BPB and FL studio, you make my life more colorful.

    I would like to see a LFO tool but you can route every knob you want to the same LFO or difrent LFO’s in the tool. What atomatic sticks with te bpm of the song, so you Kan repeat on 1/4 or 1/8 ect.

    Hello Tomislav, I want to start off by saying I love your site and congratulations on your success! The Inferno SFX Deluxe preview video was so impressive! Flame Sounds does an amazing job creating cinematic effects. I can only imagine the things my band could do with all those sounds. We really have a big interest in using cinematic effects in our metal music but haven’t found the right pack or VST’s yet. As for the VST suggestion, it would be next level if you guys created a user-friendly wave table syth for cinematic sounds. There really aren’t any out there, at least as far as I know! Thanks

    A PLUGIN THAT POPULATES YOUR LIBRARY WITH EFFECTS, INSTRUMENTS, SOUND AND PRESETS BASED ON THE SONG YOU SELECTED

    Listen, this is a good idea: we need a plugin that contains a library of effects presets based on famous songs.

    For example, I want to make a song sound like Faint from Linkin Park.

    I search for Linkin Park Faint preset and the result will show me all effects applied for drums, guitar, voice, bass, scratch, along with their preset values and suggestions of instruments.

    This collection of effects can be either your own, or a selection of third party plugins that you can pay for and download. So basically, it is a search engine for effects, instruments and presets, depending on the song you selected, so a producer no longer has to do that search and test and twitch, which takes a lot of hours.

    Then, I can select any of the effects and apply them on my instruments, chain them, change order, or import them as they were chained in the original song.

    I would like to see an EQ (preferably with dynamics control) to complete the BPB MIX RACK.

    – bpb Dirty Filter
    – bpb Dirty LA (compressor)

    If that is a little too big of a project then maybe a small drum sequencer with a nice workflow and midi grooves line presets
    The drum sequencer is much more practical and will be loved by everyone

      What would be new, or unique? We have so much available to us now. I still think there is room for a creative Sampler, one that combines ease of use with tweak-able parameters. Waves came out with one not too long ago, paired with a sample library search editor, which I like but I am not a fan of the Waves update-payment model.

    i would love to see bpb release the bacon and egg sizzler

    the graphic is a pan with some eggs and bacon

    and you turn up the sizzle knob ( and the bacons and eggs face changes ) some compression and eq

    and then you got the more fat knob
    ( the graphic adds in more oil )

    some dirt and saturation effects

    this is what we need in our lives a great effects and some fun ( better free version of sausage fattener.

      But if I could get one more… I’d like a MPE compatible Speach synthesizer… Let’s say you could type a word and assign it to a midi note, and trigger one word per key with a MPE midi keyboard that allow you to modulate the voice parameters depending on the velocity, glide, aftertouch… 😁

    A summing mixer emulation, as far as I know, there isn’t a free one, Analog Obsession used to have one, but is not longer compatible with the newer operative systems on Mac (I’m not sure in Windows or Linux). Also, If we use Reaper there is the one from Tukan plugins, but only works on Reaper actually. So please BPB!

    A Randomizer/Sequencer that can easily manipulate Midi, Arps, Dynamics, Automation, and Effects very quickly and efficiently while humanizing the Algorithm’s rhythms and patterns. If that is a bit too much, then how about a handy Random Radio/TV/Social Media Recorder/Sampler? Perhaps a plugin that keeps you focused and on a time limit to completely finish your songs so you don’t end up just making random beats or waste time and energy on mixing/editing before the song is even composed and arranged? I guess you could make it into a task/goal setting vst that could be made into a game with points/trophies/labels and levels after each accomplishment? Just my 2 cents.     Here’s a couple plugins that could stand in from the crowd:
    – a complex delay that becomes its own instrument, intellijel rainmaker inspired perhaps
    – a texture layering plugin for enriching synth sounds, it could offer synthesis tools as well as samples and noise sources so enrich incoming sounds
    – a logic based effect sequencer that can do stuff like : on every third trigger, change delay timing to a random value within a range. On the third and ninth trigger our of every twelve, pitch shift at minus 12 semitones for 8 beats. Etc! Think of the possibilities!

    A pitch tracking ring modulator or filter would be interesting.
    I have the ring mod in my guitar pedal, and am surprised I’ve never yet seen it in a VST so far.It would be a Ring mod you could actually play a melody on, and a filter where the resonance could be tuned to the root, or an interval like keyboard tracking on a synth.

    A kind of Meta-Plugin, that opens with adding a channel and that enables you to select just a preset directlly(sorted by topic like vocals, synth etc.) to add the appropriate plugin (or Plugin chain). So that is possible to skip the part, where you load the plugin and than select the preset. (2-steps) Instead of Loading the Preset which triggers the plugin (1-step).

    Granular fx plugin w/ optional pitch shifting & tempo-synced delay of grains. Pitch shifted grains can be controlled by incoming MIDI notes to produce a harmonised pitch cloud. Add some micro pitch drift and saturation for a tape delay-style analogue vibe.

    Sample finder like Loopcloud 4 (yes Loopcloud 4 as 5, 6 and/ or 7 is trash). Something to organize and/ or search for my samples that allows me to manipulate and/ or change with effects and drag and drop into my DAW.

    Finding samples should be the main focus as they’re already too many audio effects roaming online with really no need to push those boundaries, but a file organizer and/ or management application is very interesting.
