I’m a fan of HoRNet Plugins, but I honestly wish their freebie deals lasted a bit longer. It’s hard to publish an article on time and share it with all of our readers when the offer lasts for only 24 hours. Still, something is better than nothing.
The developer is currently offering the HoRNet DynEq plugin for free, but there are only ten hours left to take advantage of the deal. However, if you claim your free license before the offer expires, it will remain permanently in your user account.
HoRNet DynEq typically costs €10.99 and is available in multiple plugin formats for Windows and macOS. It’s a simple but capable dynamic equalizer. If you need a good dynamic EQ but don’t want to use a more advanced plugin like TDR Nova, this one’s for you.
Like all other dynamic EQs, HoRNet DynEq can apply the equalization curve proportionally to the intensity of the input signal. It is only active when the signal exceeds a set threshold, making it ideal for addressing issues like specific resonances without affecting the entire frequency range.
As mentioned, the user interface is simple, but it still lets you apply precise dynamic EQ processing to your audio.
The plugin features a single parametric band with standard controls for frequency, gain, and Q. This allows precise targeting of specific resonances or enhancing certain frequencies. For more complex needs, multiple instances of DynEq can be used in sequence.
Thanks to its relatively low CPU hit, I could load more than ten instances on a single audio channel without noticing a substantial performance drop in my DAW.
In addition to the EQ band, HoRNet DynEq offers a pair of handy automation features.
The Auto Speed feature syncs the envelope detector’s attack and release times to the host tempo, specifically to a 1/4 note, ensuring optimal speed settings quickly.
Similarly, the Auto Threshold feature dynamically adjusts the threshold based on the input signal and targeted frequency, ensuring consistent processing regardless of input gain changes.

onYeah, I posted a couple of times about their 24 hours giveaways in the past but lately I’ve stopped. I even unsubscribed from their mailing list because it seems that they use them only as an excuse to spam you with a bunch of sales emails in the following days. Finally, the plugins they offer are a kind of hit and miss, anyway.

onHey Alex, I’m sorry to hear that. I know that many users like their plugins, but these 24-hour deals are always tough to cover and share on time without ending up with many unhappy readers. We have a global audience across all different timezones, so a percentage of readers are always left out during a 24-hour only freebie. And the server issues only make things worse. But then again, some readers still benefit if we share the news on BPB, so I’m still considering what to do in the future.

onI had problems downloading the DynEQ too with the laggy server. Hopefully they get their server fixed and change the freebie offer time limit considering the timezone thing but anyway I too think you should keep sharing news from their deals and freebies, since they are helpful to many and they make good plugins end of the day.

onIve been a tennis ball between serious free vst-addiction and seriously bad server for several hours, made it to adding the plug into cart, site got stuck after I proceeded to log in, got into 504 gateway time-out disco and finally after all the wait the offer is over. I really like Hornet Plugins, theyre useful low cpu tools and gotta show love to smaller plugin creators but they really need new server or longer deals. I mean you cant complain about something thats offered for free, but kinda let down to wait for just to buy the plug. Probably its not their fault either, just venting my vst-addiction fumes.
Those who got the freebie comment your thoughts about it, Ill probably buy it anyway if its good.

I am also a fan of HorNet plugins, Saverio has been consistently make very good deals & giveaways which are i believe very beneficial to home musician/engineer limited by budget like me. Let’s just think about how he manage to keep the server alive while doing such great discounts & giveaways with those useful plugins.

onI still own most of the hornet plugins, a bit amount of the analog stage mk2 with tape mk2 after it used on most of your tracks can improve the assertiveness of the different voices on the sound stage massive.
A good hardware saturation with the right tube Modell inside would beat them in some terms, but for digital these effects are superb and can push your lovelyst EQ plug decisive.
The DynEQ an SW34 are just usable but the saturation and limiting tools from Saverio are much better I would say.
What are ass well on my top twenty list, are the hornet delay mk1 what can do crazy things an hornet spaces a really nice sounding algorithmic reverb
Jamming Rock a guitar effect, is my favourite for my guitars, yeah sounds amazing and can push a hard sounding Yamaha stratocaster to new dimensions and can give more mellow sounding electrical and half acoustic guitars this funkey reggae vibe, maybe another Italian programmer coded a better emulation of the the “tube screamer” sound, but for me this effect is my favourite guitar effect!
