SynthMaster Player Is FREE Until January 2020

KV331 Audio offers the SynthMaster Player ($29 value) virtual instrument as a free download until January 4th, 2020.

Don’t confuse this time-limited offer with KV331 Audio’s freeware plugin called SynthMaster Player Free. That one is, as its name implies, always free. Also, that other version of Synthmaster Player only comes with 500 presets.

The “full” version of Synthmaster Player, the one featured in this article, typically costs $29 and comes with 1,800 presets in total. In that regard, it is a significant upgrade over SynthMaster Player Free.

All that said, Synthmaster Player is still rather limited compared to the “real” SynthMaster plugin which offers unlimited control over the synthesis engine. Synthmaster Player only offers twelve editable parameters, and these are assigned differently for each preset.

OK, with the SynthMaster ecosystem basics out of the way, let’s take a closer look at SynthMaster Player and why you’d want to add it to your music production software arsenal (especially while it’s free).

SynthMaster Player is based on the same synthesis engine as the full edition of SynthMaster. It has the same synthesis capabilities under the hood, except the user can’t access most of the parameters.

This means that you won’t be able to build sounds from scratch with SynthMaster Player. On the other hand, you can edit up to twelve parameters in a preset. These parameters differ from preset to preset. In most cases, you’ll get access to the filter cutoff and resonance, some modulation settings, and FX properties. The user can also bypass the active FX modules.

So, if you’re serious about sound design (as in, you need a synthesizer to create custom sounds), SynthMaster Player is not for you.

On the other hand, if you’re looking for a synth that comes with 1,800 professionally designed presets that you can fine-tune, SynthMaster Player is one of the best deals around. If you like using synthesizers in your music, there’s no reason not to upgrade your virtual instrument collection with SynthMaster Player.

SynthMaster Player is available in VST, AU, and AAX plugin formats for digital audio workstations on PC and Mac. The software is compatible with both 32-bit and 64-bit plugin hosts on Windows. Only 64-bit plugin hosts are supported on macOS.

    Nada, es la versión Player de SIEMPRE, con molestos anuncios al comenzar, por lo cual nunca le di una oportunidad. No deja entrar a la “compra” sólo da la opción de descargar la versión gratis que ya existia. La descargue igual, la instalé y la desinstalé, tampoco ofrece nada impresionante, solo un rejunte de presets. synthmaster29playerfreewindowssetup.zip 174 MB a la papelera urgentememte.

    Nothing, it’s the Player version of ALWAYS, with annoying ads to start, so I never gave it a chance. It does not allow to enter the “purchase” only gives the option to download the free version that already existed. I downloaded it anyway, installed and uninstalled it, it doesn’t offer anything impressive either, just a bunch of presets. synthmaster29playerfreewindowssetup.zip 174 MB to the trash urgently.

      synthmaster29playerfreewindowssetup.zip is the wrong file. You didn’t download the correct version.
      Press the ‘GET IT NOW’ button, not the ‘download free’ button.

      You are wrong GUSTAF, you have to click on the purchase link. When you get done completing that it will give you a serial number for downloading the real version.

    Hello,

    Just downloaded the Windows version and the correct size for the download is: 304 MB.
    The filename is: synthmaster29playerwindowssetup.zip (without the word “free” in the middle)

    Also, there is an error in the SynthMaster download page. it says that the download is 223 MB, but when you download the file you can check that it’s 304 MB (or 311342 KB) .

    @GUSTAF That is not the correct file. I guess you downloaded the (always) free version. That’s why it’s only 174 MB and you can see the word “free” in the the filename. Please click the button that says “GET IT NOW!” with the credit card icons.

    BTW, I didn’t find the MAC version (maybe it’s because I’m using a Windows machine)

    Well, late I got an email with a serial and a SynthMasterPlayerLicenceKey.txt, and I installed it again, and yes, now it has more presets and without advertising.

    Like it’s cool. But I guess there are no expansion packs. You still have to purchase them.
    So it goes with the presets that seem a bit generic and old school mostly.
