Free Cocoa Delay VST Plugin Released By Tesselode

Free Cocoa Delay VST Plugin Released By Tesselode

Tesselode has introduced Cocoa Delay, a freeware analog-style delay effect in VST plugin format for 32-bit and 64-bit digital audio workstations on PC.

Aimed at delivering warm and slightly unstable delay sounds, Cocoa Delay comes with a couple of unusual features like delay time drift and a saturation module based on open-source code by Airwindows. Another interesting characteristic is the inclusion of ducking, a rather useful feature which we rarely see on offer in freeware delay effects.

Cocoa Delay also comes with a pair of filters (high-pass and low-pass), an LFO module, and three different panning modes (static, ping-pong, and circular pan). The dry and wet knobs on the left side of the user interface are used to adjust the intensity of the delay effect. The color scheme and the control layout share similarities with Tesselode’s recently released Mika Micro synthesizer which aimed to nail the perfect balance between versatility and ease of use. The concept works very well in Cocoa Delay, too, offering a relatively advanced feature set while maintaining a simple workflow.

In use, I was quite happy with the palette of sounds I was able to achieve using Cocoa Delay. You can use it as a squeaky clean digital delay or a saturated, drifty tape delay. The drift feature is my personal favorite, being a huge fan of tape delays and wobbly effects in general. The saturation module is fantastic as well, which isn’t surprising considering that it was crafted by a genius developer that is Airwindows. To put it simply, if you’re on Windows and you’re looking for a creative analog-style delay effect, be sure to give Cocoa Delay a try. It works in 32-bit and 64-bit VST plugin hosts on PC. Audio workstations on Mac are not supported.

The plugin can be downloaded completely free of charge from the product page linked below with optional donations ($5 is the suggested donation amount). Also worth mentioning is that Cocoa Delay is open-source so programmers can freely access the source code at GitHub.

Cocoa Delay is available for free download via Tesselode (943 kB download size, ZIP archive, 32-bit & 64-bit VST plugin format for Windows).

Crashes Cakewalk by Bandlab – works momentarily and sounds very good – but then crashes the program.

Same here, crashes Cakewalk. Some odd behavior (no crash though) in LiveProfessor2 as well, with audio muting geen sharing an output with multiple plugins.

      Kind regards,

      Psync

This is a lovely delay actually, donated a bit to support the project. Works fine in Ableton 9
